Borussia Dortmund aceHaaland ruled out ofRangers first-leg

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst
insists his side are not taking Borussia
Dortmund lightly – even if they are without
Erling Haaland.
The Norwegian attacker is still absent
through injury, and will miss the first leg of the
Europa League round of 32 tie in Germany on
Thursday between the two sides.
However, Van Bronckhorst acknowledged that
Dortmund have more than enough quality to
threaten Rangers, even without Haaland.
“Everyone recognises the talent he has, he is
one of the top strikers in the world” said Van
Bronckhorst, per Sky Sports.
“But Dortmund have been playing without him
for weeks, so for me it is just about preparing
for the players we will face.
“He is almost back to play, but it looks like he
is not in the squad for Thursday”

Marcus Rashford hits backat journalist after claimshe’s ‘irritated’ by CristianoRonaldo

Marcus Rashford has responded to
claims suggesting that he is among
a couple of Manchester United
players ‘irritated’ by Cristiano
Ronaldo, with the media doing its
upmost to create divides to fit their
preferred narrative.
When we initially reported on the news,
provided by Christian Falk on Twitter, we
warned that the German reporter was hit and
miss when it came to stories on Manchester
United. Without trying to sound disrespectful,
you shouldn’t believe everything you read, in
other words.
Falk tweeted: “TRUE. The English players
like Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford& Co
are irritated that Ronaldo wants to lead the
dressing room with his own clique. There is a
risk of split in the team.”

This was pure speculative at best, and United
star Rashford didn’t waste any time when it
came to squash the claims, by quoting Falk’s
tweet and adding: Are we just making it up as
we go along now then? Please stop looking
for divides.”

It feels like a couple of journalists are all
digging for that big story on Ronaldo
showing how he is the problem at United and
pretending like we didn’t have any before he
arrived in the summer and they won’t stop
here.
Rashford did the best thing by coming out and
making his side clear because these news
drops spread like wildfire on social media.

Anyhow, back to the football- Ronaldo has
been involved in twelve goals from his 21
Premier League outings this season. He will
be looking to make it 20 goals by the end of
the season.
United face Leeds United next in the Premier
League on Sunday.
I should add this is a much better way to use
of social media from a players perspective
than we’ve seen recently from the likes of
Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard.

Aberdeen urged to makemove for ex-Man Utd bossSolskjaer

Aberdeen are being urged to make a move
for sacked Manchester United manager Ole
Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Dons are on the hunt for their new coach
after sacking Stephen Glass earlier this
month, with former Celtic midfielder Barry
Robson taking temporary charge.
Solskjaer has been out of work since leaving
Old Trafford in November and Nicholas
thinks he is an ideal candidate for Sir Alex
Ferguson’s former club.
If Aberdeen really want to make a statement
they should go and make an attempt to speak
to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer” Nicholas told the
Scottish Daily Express.
“I was thinking about managerial options for
my old club and I would love them to go out
and make a real statement of intent.
“Why not go and ask the former Manchester
United manager if he is interested? He can
only say no, but if you don’t ask you dont get.

“People might say he has just managed one
of the biggest clubs in the world, why would
he even consider Aberdeen?”
Solskjaer returned to Molde in October 2015
and remained there until United came calling
in December 2018.
Nicholas added: “I know and I get that but if
you look at Solskjaers CV away from United it
has been at the likes of Molde and Cardiff.
“They are clubs who are of similar size and
potential to Aberdeen. Why not show some
ambition? Go and see if you could get a
big-name to reignite the fire at Aberdeen
again.

Tottenham pushing hard tosign Blackburn defenderAshley Phillips ahead ofChelsea, Man Utd

Tottenham are pushing hard to sign
Blackburn Rovers defender Ashley Phillips.
The Daily Express says Tottenham had two
bids turned down for Blackburn teenager
Phillips in January -but are expected to return
with a bigger offer in the summer.
Spurs are likely to be one of the busiest
clubs in the Premier League at the end of the
season as they attempt to add much-needed
reinforcements to Antonio Conte’s squad.

Phillips, just 16, is yet to make his debut
for Championship promotion contenders
Blackburn – but Spurs saw bids rising to £5
million including bonuses rejected last month
by the Lancashire club.
The centre back, now 6 ft 4ins tall, has been
performing so well in Rovers’ youth and
Under 21 set ups that a host of scouts have
been present at games, from clubs including
Manchester United and Chelsea.
Tottenham, though, made the first move
for the player, who qualifies to play for both
England and Wales, and want to add him to
their development sides.

Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has labelled
Phillips a “mega footballer” and said this
month: “Ash is a phenomenal young boy; if
you were to create a defender in the mould
of how you would want one, this kid has got
every attribute.
“But he is still just a young boy. He needs
time. He’s an exciting prospect, is all l’d say.”
